GOLD® is used to assess more than 2 million children, from birth through kindergarten, each year, including all 50 states, territories, and the military. The demographic makeup of the classroom is ever changing, with more dual-language learners in the classroom than ever before. This change prompted Dr. Richard Lambert from the Center for Educational Measurement & Evaluation at the University of North Carolina-Charlotte and his colleagues to explore the impact of GOLD® on dual-language learners. The study not only explored if the new challenges presented to teachers impacted the quality of care all children receive in the classroom, but also given the nature of GOLD®, and it being language agnostic, it provided a great opportunity to measure the impacts of a research-based, whole-child assessment, like GOLD®, with dual-language learners.

Join us as we discuss our latest journal article, published in the Bilingual Research Journal, where we will highlight this study and how GOLD® helped raise the quality of assessment and instruction with bilingual children.
