Best Practices for Early Childhood Education Continuity
Calming the Storm: A Trauma-Informed Approach to Preparing for a Storm and Its Aftermath - Train the Trainer
A free webinar event hosted by Teaching Strategies.
As much as we wish we could protect children from adversity, natural disasters are unfortunately beyond our control. We can, however, learn how to prepare ourselves and our children for these “storms,” thereby enhancing the likelihood of resiliency.
In this interactive webinar, you will learn about trauma’s effect on brain development and strategies any teacher can implement in their classroom to become trauma-informed. Through activities, role play, video, and demonstrations, you will be able to identify signs and symptoms of student behavioral health concerns; how trauma affects learning and what to do about it; and how to appropriately respond to children and adults experiencing mental health challenges. You will also be trained in effective facilitation techniques and provided with additional resources.
