TXAEYC and Teaching Strategies will host several 2-hour virtual professional development sessions for programs participating in the TX GOLD® Project. Participants may choose to attend any or all of the five 2-hour sessions focused on the implementation of GOLD®.

Understanding Children’s Development and Learning using GOLD®
This training will:
- Identify the purpose of GOLD® and explain how to use the objectives for development and learning.
- Explain how the four steps of the assessment process links curriculum and assessment to best support children’s development and learning
Collecting Effective Documentation
This training will:
- Support understanding of how accurate documentation provides useful evidence of children’s development and learning
- Explain how to analyze and evaluate documentation in order to plan responsively
Effective Planning to Support Children’s Development and Learning
This training will:
- Describe the role of curriculum and assessment in informing instruction
- Explain how to use the objectives for development and learning to focus observations and respond with appropriate support for individual and group needs
Supporting Ongoing Family Engagement
This training will:
- Describe effective teacher-family partnerships and explain their benefits
- Identify strategies for communicating effectively with families
- Identify resources to support family engagement
Coaching and Technical Support for GOLD® and MyTeachingStrategies®
This training will:
- Provide support for all aspects of the objectives for development and learning, GOLD® and MyTeachingStrategies®
Using the Teach Area to Support Assessment in MyTeachingStrategies®
This training will:
- Describe the role of curriculum and assessment in informing instruction.
- Explain how the four step assessment process link curriculum and assessment to support appropriate individual and group needs.
- Demonstrate an understanding of how to use the features of the Teach area in MyTeachingStrategies® to link assessment and curriculum.

These sessions will take place over the next six weeks and each session will be 2-hours in length. Participants can select any of the five training options and may register as many times as needed. You must be present for the entire 2-hour session to receive a training certificate.
The link to the virtual session will be sent to you 24-hours prior to the start of your training session. Please do not share the link with others, only TX GOLD® Project participants and registered attendees may participate in these sessions.
