Read It Once, Read It Twice, Read It Once Again

Tuesday, October 30, 2018 | 1:30 p.m. ET
(12:30 p.m. CT / 11:30 a.m. MT / 10:30 a.m. PT)

A free, live webinar event

Only through deep, analytical book discussions can children truly benefit from the dynamic characters, rich vocabulary, and powerful social–emotional themes that present themselves in high-quality children’s literature. Join us for the first event in the Encourage a Love of Reading webinar series, as we explore how repeated, interactive read-alouds not only promote listening skills, comprehension, and critical thinking, but also present opportunities to guide and support preschool and kindergarten children’s social–emotional development.

New Webinar Series! Encourage a Love of Reading

Teachers play a crucial role in helping children develop positive attitudes toward reading. The daily interactions you cultivate for rich literacy experiences promote a lifelong habit of reading for pleasure and for giving and receiving information. When children enjoy having books read to them and when they are excited about what they are hearing and learning, children are motivated to learn to read and, later, read to learn. Join us for our next webinar series, where we will explore the components of literacy as we discuss strategies related to the repeated read-aloud approach, integrating nonfiction texts in meaningful ways throughout the day, and evaluating and refining your Library area as your classroom’s hub of literacy learning.
